Do you have a green resolution for 2010?

A recent internet based survey was conducted for Tiller, LLC by the market research firm, Matthew Greenwald & Associates. Tiller, LLC is a leading advocacy marketing consultancy based in New York City. The survey entitled, 2009 Tiller Social Action Survey, found that Americans are committed to being more “green” in 2010. Here are a few of the findings from the survey:
In 2010,
- 53% of Adults said they will include a “green” resolution
- 85% are “somewhat likely” to reduce energy consumption
- 84% want to recycle more
- 76% would like to make purchases from environmentally-responsible companies
- 72% are “somewhat likely” to use reusable shopping bags
So how do these results compare to past green resolutions and practices:
- 49% of Adults made green resolutions in 2009
- 76% said that they monitored energy consumption in 2009
- 47% made purchases (in 2009) from environmentally-responsible companies
- 42% made resolutions (in 2008) to carry reusable shopping bags
